Release of the song “Kyieve Mii”

Friends, we are pleased to present our reinterpretation of the famous song “Kyieve Mii”.

Our version of “Kyieve Mii” was created with deep respect for the original work by composer Ihor Shamo and lyricist Dmytro Lutsenko, while also reflecting our own emotional experience of the city and our country during a time of profound challenges.

Kyiv is a city of incredible beauty. It is the city where we live, create, fall in love, meet friends, and always return to after every journey. A city that forever stays in the heart.

Yuriy Veres recalls:
“In March 2022, I accidentally heard a lonely street violinist performing the melody "Kyieve Mii". I froze, and then couldn’t hold back my tears. It was deeply moving — almost overwhelming. At that moment, I promised myself: if we stay alive, we will definitely create our own version of this song with the band and perform it. I kept that promise.”

The band "Kamianyi hist" recorded its own version of “Kyieve Mii” and even filmed a music video for it.

This project was not easy to bring to life: arranging, recording, mixing, mastering, scripting, directing, filming, and editing. The filming process was especially challenging. We had planned it for May 24 — the day after one of the most massive attacks on Kyiv. We were supposed to start at 6 a.m., but due to the night shelling, we had to postpone the shoot to the second half of the day.

Today, we are truly happy to present our version of “Kyieve Mii” to you. Because each of us has a city that remains home forever.

A city we love.
